HOW IT WORKS

Team up, sign up, and get ready for some real fun on two wheels.

At check-in on Easter Saturday you'll receive your Checkpoint Map and Challenge Card.  Quickly make a plan of attack, as at 8am you're off in a mass Le Mans style start.

You've got three hours to earn as many points as possible, choosing your own route and deciding which challenges to tackle.

Go for the win or go for laughs, just be back at Wheelworks by 11am for coffee, treats, and prizegiving.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do we need to be fast cyclists? Not at all. The Bunny Hop is designed for all abilities — you choose your own route and decide how many checkpoints to chase. Some teams will go all out for the win, while others will take their sweet time and enjoy the challenges.  The beauty is that regardless of speed, everyone starts and finishes at the same time.  (To complete all checkpoints, expect to ride ~40k depending on how lost you get)

What kind of challenges are involved? Expect a mix of physical challenges, creative tasks, and miscellaneous shenanigans at various checkpoints around Wellington. Details are kept secret until race day... half the fun is not knowing what's coming.

What if it rains?  We ride in the rain! But if conditions are genuinely unsafe we'll move to the raindate — Sunday 5 April, same time, same place. Registered teams will be notified by 7am on the morning of the event.

What kind of bike should we ride? The course is designed with road bikes in mind, however there will be some optional off-road sections.  All bikes are welcome.

What should we bring? Your bike, helmet, a charged phone for navigation, and a sense of humour. A team costume will earn you an easy 50 points. Wise teams will also bring a way to carry things ;)

When does Registration close?  7:50am on the day. But please be a mensch and don't wait till then :)

Is there a refund if we can't make it? Registrations are non-refundable, but you're welcome to transfer your entry to another team if you can't make it. Just let us know before the event so we can update our records.

Last year's Wildcat was superb, a real grassroots, fun event.  I did it with my wife Scoobie , and we have talked about it often.  So good to see someone doing something  a bit different.  Chapeau!
