Here's a hidden gem which you'll wish staid hidden.  Enter from Paremoremo Rd for a technical descent to the bottom of the valley, then buckle up for double digit gradients on the way up.  Relief awaits on Ridge Rd, but not soon enough.

Safety note: the segment starts just before the one lane bridge, so take care and restart if required.  The segment finishes just before Ridge Rd, be mindful of traffic as you recover. (I would create a new segment after the one lane bridge, but Strava no longer allows 'duplicate' segments).  Ride safe.
